3) Overview
The Clinical Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care to all patients consistent with the goals and objectives of the hospital and the pharmacy department. In providing this care, the pharmacist must review all drug orders and judge the appropriateness of those orders, i.e., appropriate drug, dose, frequency, etc. Drug‑related problems such as potential allergic reactions, drug interactions, and other issues must be identified and resolved.
The pharmacist must also oversee the activities of supportive personnel working in the area. Pharmacists are expected to focus the full potential of their knowledge and experience on the assessment and improvement of patient care. They must be cognizant of medication‑related patient safety risks and resolve or elevate identified problems in a timely manner. The role may allow for remote work based on the needs of the department at the discretion of the manager or supervisor.

Additionally, vaccine requirements are a condition of employment. All new employees must be vaccinated against seasonal influenza, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and tetanus/diphtheria/acellular pertussis (Tdap) since 2005, unless exempt medically or religiously. Immunization records will be requested upon hire.
Responsibilities- Prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician request according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensures safe, appropriate, cost‑effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Contributes to the quality and effective operation of the department.
- Maintains competence required for current job title/position.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school (no prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided).
- Licensed Pharmacist – MO (or equivalent).
- Employees must obtain a Missouri pharmacist license (or equivalent) within 90 days of hire.
- Licensed Pharmacist – KS or equivalent (required only if primary work location is Kansas; license to be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Specialty certification preferred upon hire.

Starting PayOur pay range is market competitive, beginning at $57.81 per hour, with the final offer based on education and experience.
