Summary
In support of DAWSON's Enterprise Tele-Behavioral Health Clinical Services contract with the Defense Health Agency (DHA), we are seeking qualified candidates to fill our Clinical Psychologist positions. You must physically reside in the United States or United States territories.
Shift9‑hour shift, 0730‑1630 Central Europe Time (CET) (UTC+2), Monday–Friday or 11‑hour shift that aligns with 0730‑1830 Korea/Japan Standard Time (UTC+9), Tuesday–Friday.
Key Responsibilities- Perform brief, evidence‑based virtual individual and/or group counseling for low to moderate acuity patients with acute mental health conditions in accordance with the military health system model of behavioral health care.
- Perform duties as a Practitioner and Consultant in Psychology with emphasis on problems of all levels of complexity; provide treatment services in routine outpatient services using virtual platforms to low and/or moderate acuity patients. Treatments require very advanced knowledge and/or skill and selection from a variety of alternatives. Provide continuing follow‑up care for chronic outpatients with acute disorders and complications such as psychosis, organic brain syndrome, substance abuse/addictions, etc.,
and provide psychiatric care for triage patients presenting with acute illnesses of minor and major proportions. - Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety. Such direction and interaction will adhere to government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Recommend hospitalization as applicable or determine a service member's fitness for duty; assess and complete Active‑Duty Profiles, Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), Military occupation/Mental Status Evaluations (MSE), command consultations, and other administrative processes from Air Force, Army, and Navy as required and prepare reports of such evaluations according to applicable regulations.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the requirements and benefits of TRICARE and effectively communicate these to TRICARE/DoD beneficiaries. Prepare and maintain convenience file, outpatient medical record, and inpatient record documentation in accordance with service and hospital SOPs. Prepare case summaries and other correspondence in a timely and effective fashion using approved electronic medical record.
- Exercise clinical judgment in licensure area and proactively support the behavioral health service line in accordance with stated policies and procedures. Skill in written and oral communication especially in case formulation and presentation.
- Develop, monitor and document comprehensive treatment plans to restore and rehabilitate patients with personal, emotional and/or mental illnesses. Consult reference material, for example the most current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual for Mental Disorders (DSM), to identify symptoms, make diagnoses, and develop therapeutic or treatment plans, establishing evaluation techniques, developing treatment and rehabilitation plans, and providing appropriate therapeutic treatment services.
Examine and conduct thorough studies of presenting patients and evaluate laboratory and clinical findings, prescribing appropriate treatment or referring patient to appropriate specialty clinics. Collaborate with physicians in other medical specialties on cases involving complicated and multifaceted problems and provide professional consultation and/or collaborative medical support to other professional staff such as psychologists, advanced practical nurses, social workers, as well as military specific liaison or commanders. - Direct Quality Assurance within their area of responsibility and make decisions that have a serious impact on the lives of others, such as recommending hospitalization or determining a service member's fitness for duty or assessing and completing MEB, Temporary Disability Retirement List (TDRL) evaluations, psychological autopsies, sanity boards, command consultations, and other administrative processes as required and prepare reports of such evaluations according to…
