Overview:
Sentara Health is hiring OB GYN Ultrasound Technician /Medical Sonographer in Harrisonburg, VA!
Job Description Conducts general diagnostic ultrasound imaging studies of patients, within scope of demonstrated competency under the direction of a qualified physician, to include: scanning of patient for demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology, operation of sonography equipment, operation of the electronic radiology systems, preparation of patient room/equipment/medications, and maintains adequate supply inventory. Explains examination and procedure to patients and completes departmental documentation.
Competent in use and logging of infection control equipment.
Education HS Diploma or equivalency Required Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field preferred
Certification/Licensure Completion of a training program acceptable to their registry board, ARRT, or ARDMS Required Registered ARRT or ARDMS required upon hire for ACR-accredited sites - Required For ICAVL-accredited sites, candidates who are not yet credentialed may be hired as provisional technical staff, must work under the direct supervision of a credentialed vascular/general sonographer, and must obtain the appropriate vascular/general sonography credential within two years of the start date of training Required Experience None required
