Position: Travel Speech Language Pathologist - $2,430 per week

Overview

Fusion Medical Staffing-Therapy is seeking a travel Speech Language Pathologist for a travel assignment in Morehead, Kentucky. This 13-week assignment starts 07/13/2026 and is 40 hours per week, daytime shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across a diverse patient population.
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
  • Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, while offering supportive counseling as required.
  • Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient care.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech-language pathology.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Qualifications Required
  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations.
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
Preferred
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Speech-Language Pathology experience;
    New grads are welcome to apply.
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.
Summary

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. The SLP develops and implements individualized treatment plans to enhance speech, language, and cognitive-communication abilities. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and caregivers to facilitate improved communication outcomes and quality of life.

Essential Work Functions
  • Evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders using standardized assessments and clinical observation.
  • Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
  • Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document in the electronic medical record.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing practices.

  • Maintain a safe treatment environment and adhere to infection control and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in quality assurance and ongoing professional development.

  • Technical/Motor Skills — Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
  • Mental Requirements — Ability to handle frequent public contact, work under deadlines, and manage irregular schedules as needed.
  • Sensory — Visual acuity and effective communication abilities.
