Surgical Technologist- OSC- No Weekends- No On-Call

Job Summary

Under supervision, assists in operations. May help set up the operating room, prepare and transport patients for surgery, adjust lights and equipment, pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons and surgeons' assistants, hold retractors, cut sutures, and help count sponges, needles, supplies, and instruments. May provide day‑to‑day guidance and direction to more junior staff. Provides day‑to‑day guidance/direction to junior staff and supports the patient care team.

• Participates in time‑out procedures.
• Attainment of extra supplies and equipment as needed.
• Sets up equipment independently.
• Participates as an active member of the Patient Care Team.
• Monitors and continually assesses operating room conditions, including patient and surgical team needs.
• Prepares patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes to prevent exposure.
• Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Licenses and Credentials:
  Basic Life Support (BLS) – required;
  Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Three (3) years of diversified experience in the operating/procedure room; 3–5 years required; 5 years preferred. Experience scrubbing in multiple specialties and leading teams for 1–5 years.
• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  
  Knowledge of SPD Sterile Room; ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced clinical environment; advanced knowledge of sterile processing procedures and policies; familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items.

Day.

Hourly rate: $29.81 – $45.36. Grade: 5.
