Acadian Client Services is seeking an Insurance Verifier to join the Verification Department in Lafayette, LA.
Summary of Duties: Responsible for verifying all required information necessary to prepare accounts for submission to the third‑party payor.
Job Location: Lafayette, LA. This position is based in the office, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM. This is NOT a Work From Home position.
Essential Functions:
- Verify insurance information including eligibility, copay, deductibles and out of pocket costs
- Handle incoming calls for specific payor units
- Initiate contact with patient/guarantors, third‑party payors, and facilities
- Ensure accuracy of demographic information
- Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Google, MS Office Suite or related software
- Previous medical billing experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with coworkers and patients
- Professional work ethic and dress code
- Ability to adhere to productivity goals, departmental and company guidelines, policies and procedures
- Maintain highest level of confidentiality
- Punctual with strong attendance history
