CVS Health has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Care Plus Specialty Pharmacy team. We specialize in supporting patients with complex therapies including Oncology, Multiple Sclerosis, Hepatitis C, HIV, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Transplant, and Gastrointestinal conditions.
This role begins as 100% onsite during the training period. Upon successful completion of training, technicians may transition into a hybrid work model, averaging 2–3 days onsite per week, with remaining days eligible for remote work based on performance and business needs. Ongoing participation in the hybrid model requires consistent onsite attendance on a weekly and/or monthly basis as determined by operational needs.
WhatYou’ll Do
Coordinate and process prescription orders from intake through fulfillment
Conduct refill outreach and support adherence programs for specialty patients
Schedule and coordinate medication deliveries, including time‑sensitive and specialty shipments
Submit and follow up on prior authorization requests with third‑party payors
Perform benefits investigation and support copay assistance programs
Communicate with patients receiving specialty medications, providers, and insurance companies to resolve access barriers
Accurately document patient interactions and maintain records in pharmacy systems
Triage inbound calls and provide high‑touch, patient‑centered service
Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure seamless patient care and therapy continuity
High school diploma or equivalent
4–5 years of pharmacy experience required
Experience working with patients receiving specialty medications
Experience with submission of prior authorization requests to third‑party payors
Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and systems in a fast‑paced environment
Active Pharmacy Technician license/registration (per state requirements)
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred
Four‑year degree in a healthcare‑related field, or a four‑year degree with relevant healthcare experience
Knowledge of specialty disease states including Transplant, Hepatitis C, Infectious diseases (HIV), Oncology, and other specialty therapies
Experience in specialty pharmacy, insurance coordination, or patient support programs
