Overview
As a Remote Nutritionist / Health Educator with East Central Public Health District, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Position open to Georgia Residents only. This position is in GA - Remote and does not offer relocation assistance. Must be within a reasonable commuting distance. If relocating to the area, please specify on the application. Starting Salary $25 / $35 per hour.
Responsibilities- Provide nutrition services to clients in the WIC Program as assigned.
- Complete nutrition screening, assessment, and education for a minimum of 2 clients per hour, working 29 hours a week.
- Hours can range from 9 AM - 8 PM, Monday through Sunday.
- Must have reliable internet service.
Nutritionist/Dietitian: Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university AND verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Health Educator: Master’s degree in public health education from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor’s degree in education, social, behavioral, or biological sciences or a directly related field from an accredited college or university.
At Least One Year Of WIC Experience Preferred.
According to Georgia Public Health WIC Program Guidelines, candidates without a verification statement, who can comply with the following requirements, may be eligible for consideration in this position:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a nutrition field from an ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) but did not earn a verification statement. A letter from the DPD program director stating the individual successfully completed the program but did not earn a verification statement can serve as coursework verification OR Bachelor’s Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or Public Health Nutrition from an accredited college or university that meets specific coursework criteria.
Criteria can be reviewed and verified using non-DPD required coursework references.
Employment Information
Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary. DPH accepts educational credentials recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (US DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc. The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
