Job Summary:

The Clinical Match Specialist (CMS) in our program for Adults with Disabilities, Friend2

Friend, is responsible for interviewing, assessing, matching and supporting the volunteers and participants who are matched in the one-to-one friendship program. The CMS will support and empower individuals and families to participate actively in the life of their communities, to live inspired and to inspire others. The CMS will also cultivate a strong sense of affiliation with Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Boston on the part of participants and volunteers.

Responsibilities
  • Enrollment and Assessment:
    • Conduct volunteer enrollment interviews.
    • Conduct participant interviews.
    • Prepare written assessments and recommendations based on interviews and recommendations of volunteers and participants.
  • Match Support:
    • Create safe and appropriate match relationships based on a current pool of volunteers and participants.
    • Maintain a caseload of up to 50 matches.
    • Conduct Match Introduction Meetings for new matches, match intervention meetings, and other meetings as needed.
    • Conduct regularly scheduled and timely Match Support contacts (either in person, phone or electronic contact) with volunteers and participants to confirm safety, relationship development and satisfaction.
    • Identify and address potential problems and barriers as early as possible.
    • Document comprehensive written summaries of all match support contacts in web-based contact management software.
    • Conduct exit interviews by phone with all parties at match closure, assess reasons for match closure and re-match/re-engagement potential, and conduct re-assessments accordingly.
    • Maintain accurate files and documentation on all volunteers and participants, including updated contacts and background checks.
  • Group Planning and Facilitation:
    • Run activity groups each month of which will occur on a Wednesday night.
    • Plan and implement details related to monthly programs, notify participants and provide on-site supervision.
    • Complete attendance and match support documentation following each event.
    • Act as liaison between F2F team and JBBBS event planner in sharing ideas and resources for community-wide events.
  • Other:
    • Work closely with Volunteer Outreach to help with events and provide updated information on required volunteers.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Support additional projects, as determined in collaboration with supervisor (e.g., event planning support, trainings, constituent newsletters, events, etc.).
    • Collaborate and share information and resources with other agency staff and management.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social services, human services or related field preferred.
  • 1‑2 years of experience working with adults with disabilities in a social services environment.
  • Assessment, case management and/or relationship development experience with diverse adult populations.
  • Ability to work efficiently, effectively and sensitively with confidential information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently, to exercise good judgment, make sound decisions and problem-solve.
  • Collaborative workstyle with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to quality and results.
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, state-required auto insurance minimums and willingness to travel as necessitated by job responsibilities.
  • Attend program and organization events as required.
Physical Requirements and Working Environment

Required to sit at a workstation/computer for extended periods of time and use a keyboard for prolonged periods; able to perform repetitive motion tasks. This role is performed in a hybrid remote/office environment. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate (business office with computers, phones, and printers). Office space is shared with some shared offices and/or shared desk spaces. Working some nights and weekends is anticipated.
