The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications and performing varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. It performs computations and typically works on semi-routine assignments.
In this role, the technician may contact physicians for prescription clarification, enter prescription orders into the system, and support pharmacists and patients by ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs developed to optimize health outcomes, including effective communication with patients and providers. Decisions typically focus on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. The technician works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards but has some latitude over prioritization and timing, and works under minimal direction.
Responsibilities- Support pharmacists in specialty Rx medication preparation and dispensing.
- Perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments.
- Calculate and perform computations as required.
- Contact physicians for prescription clarification and enter prescription orders into the system.
- Ensure adherence to specialty-Rx operational processes and programs, including effective communication with patients and providers.
- Interpret area/department policy and methods to complete assignments.
- Work under minimal direction while maintaining quality standards and prioritizing tasks.
- Reside in Arizona, Florida, or Ohio.
- Hold an active Pharmacy Technician license with the Board of Pharmacy in the state of residence.
- Be certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Health career Association (NHA).
- Have experience as a Pharmacy Technician or inbound/outbound phone experience.
- Be able to manage multiple or competing priorities and use multiple computer applications simultaneously.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Be adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Have strong attention to detail and strong data entry skills.
- Experience in a healthcare call center.
Virtual training starts on day one of employment and will run for the first few weeks with a schedule of either 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, Monday-Friday.
Following training, the regular work schedule is Monday – Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM EST.
TravelThis is a remote position; occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
Pay RangeThe compensation range below reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated, job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
$40,000 - $52,300 per year.
