We are the behavioral health community organization responsible for the delivery of mental health, substance abuse treatment coordination, and developmental disabilities services for Kent County. We need individuals who are passionate about making a difference by helping others.
Medical Assistant responsible for direct service to clients in the clinical outpatient setting of a Psychiatric Services Clinic or Integrated Case Management. The clinic serves both adults and children with mental illness and substance use disorder needs. Integrated Case Management is a Patient‑Centered Behavioral Health Home based on NCQA guidelines. The multidisciplinary team includes a psychiatrist, registered nurse, medical assistant, case managers, outpatient therapists, and peer support.
The team serves consumers with an emphasis on evidence‑based therapeutic treatments.
40 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. No weekends, on call, or holiday requirements. This assignment is in person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additional duties include providing direct client care, assisting the medical team, and supporting the clinical operations.
Minimum Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program from an accredited program.
- At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
- Current valid CPR certification or obtain within six (6) months of hire.
- Education or training in the basics of medical terminology.
- Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management and e‑mail.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and bridging language/cultural barriers to Network
180 services within diverse communities.
- CMA certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants or RMA certification through American Medical Technologists.
- Strong understanding of services for psychiatric and substance disordered consumers, and a strong recovery philosophy.
- Experience working with an Electronic Health Record.
- Lived experiences with mental illness, developmental disabilities or substance use disorders valued.
