Responsible for advanced clinical and administrative duties within clinical nutrition, managing comprehensive medical nutritional care for patients, including nutrition assessment, care planning, diet modification, education, and related activities.
Qualifications- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Dietetics required;
Master’s preferred. No experience in lieu of degree. - Licenses:
Dietitian and Nutritionist state license preferred;
Registered Dietitian (RD) preferred;
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) preferred. - Experience:
3‑5 years as a clinical dietitian with multiple patient populations. - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Good communication, problem‑solving, independent work, teaching and motivating all patient age populations.
Per Diem position.
Schedule:
Tuesday‑Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Availability for training Tuesdays–Fridays for the first 30‑60 days until proficient. Requires extensive knowledge of obesity treatment and behavioral modalities for bariatric surgery patients at NWH Center for Weight Loss Surgery. Working conditions include onsite presence with potential remote work and occasional evenings for support group facilitation.
- Provide advanced clinical dietitian responsibilities, including specialty or advanced patient populations, participation in clinical care forums, mentoring of new staff, and evaluation of new products.
- Assist leadership team in program planning and proposals to improve processes or efficiency; plan, conduct, supervise, and evaluate education experiences of dietetic interns and students.
- Develop and implement nutrition plans of care based on nutritional assessment, physician orders, clinical data, interdisciplinary health care plans, and quality standards.
- Document all nutrition‑related information, including assessment, therapy recommendations, care plans, follow‑up data, diet consultation results, discharge planning, daily clinical activities, and other pertinent orders.
- Provide counseling, education, and develop resources for patients and families on prescribed therapeutic diets.
- Partner with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support is provided; review menu selections to monitor compliance with modified diets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
