For over 20 years, ABC Group Hawaii has provided compassionate, research-driven ABA services to help children and families thrive. Our close-knit, in-person team is known for collaboration, kindness, and a commitment to meaningful outcomes.

While the average RBT tenure in Hawai‘i is less than 12 months, our RBTs stay 1.5+ years on average—a reflection of our supportive culture, strong training systems, and shared sense of purpose.

We use a structured level system to ensure BCBAs feel prepared every step of the way. This includes:

• Performance portfolios and clear rubrics
• Caseload sizes based on your level (smaller caseloads for those building proficiency)
• Weekly–monthly mentorship meetings with our Directors of Clinical Services
• Digestible trainings on interventions, clinical decision-making, and case troubleshooting

This framework promotes strong clinical outcomes—and significantly reduces burnout.

We believe great care requires great communication. Our 360° feedback model encourages open dialogue at all levels. Staff regularly provide feedback to supervisors as well as receive it, helping us grow as a team and as a company.

You’ll be placed at the level that best matches your experience and clinical readiness. Each level includes structured mentorship, clear expectations, and a gradual increase in independence and caseload.

A short-term, preparatory role for new BCBAs. Apprentices provide direct services under close supervision, support case activities, and receive weekly mentorship to prepare for independent caseload management.

Residents deliver full BCBA services—assessment, treatment planning, staff training, parent training, and collaboration—primarily in a clinic setting.

As you advance from Level 1 to Level 3, you gradually take on more cases and larger scheduled hours, while direct-service requirements decrease:

Level 1: 1–3 cases; 40–65 scheduled hours; ABC provides up to 20 direct hours

Level 2: 3–4 cases; up to 130 scheduled hours; up to 10 direct hours provided

Level 3: 5–6 cases; 131–199 scheduled hours; direct hours only for call-outs

Attending BCBAs perform the same core responsibilities as Residents, with increased autonomy, leadership expectations, and higher caseload capacity.
