Sonographer

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to operate scanner(s) and produce diagnostic images.

(90%) Sonography Imaging

• Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
• Explains and prepares patients for sonography procedures, explaining the procedure and positioning patients appropriately.
• Performs routine and advanced sonography imaging procedures on designated body portions with minimal supervision, providing patient support throughout the procedure.
• Adjusts sonography scan parameters correctly and as needed.
• Follows physicians' orders precisely, conforms to safety regulations, and accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Maintains an orderly and clean work area, including sanitizing equipment to promote safety for patients and team members.
• Maintains the American College of Radiology (ACR) toolkit and accreditation requirements.

• Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
• Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
• Assist with training new team members, providing resources and technical expertise as applicable.

• Completes other tasks and projects as assigned.

Temporary/PRN

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited sonography program or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
• Registered American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) sonographer, current and in good standing.
• Sonography certification in imaging specialty (AB,  , ObGyn, etc.).
• Licensed Sonographer in the appropriate state (if applicable).
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Proof of sufficient training and experience to perform sonography procedures independently.

Preferred:

• Certification in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
• OSHA Class I exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens training.
