Sentara is hiring a Full-time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician in Training at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA.

Location:

Norfolk, VA
- Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Status:
Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

Shift: Rotating (8 hour shift)

Hours:

6am-11pm* (occasional overnight coverage)
Weekends:
Every Other Weekend Holiday Rotation Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program Certification/Licensure Certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire in the state of practice is required

Learn more Registered Pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice. Performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner

Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed

Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information

Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements

Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

Enrollment in an approved pharmacy technician training program or Guild Program and certification as a technician-in-training within 30 days of hire is required

Must register as a pharmacy technician-in-training in the state of practice

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
