RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Scheduling Specialist to manage patient and professional scheduling, answer phones, and handle faxes. The role focuses on ensuring efficient scheduling operations and providing excellent patient service.
This position is full-time, working Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm.
Essicial Duties and Responsibilities (85%) Scheduling Activities- Answers phones and handles calls in a professional and timely manner
- Maintains positive interactions at all times with patients, referring offices, and team members
- Schedules patient examinations according to existing company policy
- Ensures all appropriate personal, financial, and insurance information is obtained and recorded accurately
- Ensures all patient data is entered into information systems completely and accurately
- Informs patients of financial responsibilities, appropriate clothing, preparation kits, transportation, and eating requirements prior to appointment
- Communicates scheduling changes to technologists to ensure highest level of patient satisfaction
- Maintains an up-to-date and accurate database of current and potential referring physicians
- Handles overflow calls for other centers within market to ensure uninterrupted exam scheduling for referring offices
- Provides back‑up coverage for front‑office team members as requested by supervisor (e.g., rest breaks, meal breaks, vacations, and sick leave)
- Fields 1-800 calls and routes to the appropriate department or associate (St. Louis Park only)
- Pre‑certifies all exams with the patient’s insurance company as required
- Verifies insurance for same‑day add‑ons
- Uses knowledge of insurance carriers and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization if needed prior to appointment

RequirementsRequired:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency with computer systems and typing
- Able to handle a multi‑level phone system with a high volume of calls at one time
Preferred:
- One (1) year of customer service experience
- Medical terminology and previous clinical business office experience
