The Forensic Clinical Psychologist is a hybrid/remote position based in Salem, OR. This position provides clinical psychology services by conducting forensic psychological assessments, preparing reports for courts throughout Oregon based on Oregon statutes, providing expert testimony in Oregon courts, and provides consultation regarding agency staff, members of the community, other state agencies, district attorneys, defense attorneys, and the courts. This position also develops, oversees, and presents professional education seminars within the hospital.

The Forensic Clinical Psychologist works collaboratively with other psychologists at the Oregon State Hospital and participates in peer review in the psychology department.

The Forensic Evaluation Service operates within the Oregon State Hospital, a Joint Commission-accredited and CMS certified public psychiatric hospital. The hospital's mission is to provide psychiatric hospital and residential treatment services to people committed by the Oregon courts as part of the state mental health service system.

What We Are Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited university AND completion of a one-year internship in Clinical Psychology. You must be licensed as a Psychologist in Oregon.

Special

Qualifications:

Must obtain and maintain certification in Oregon as a Forensic Evaluator.

  • Experience working with forensic and psychiatric inpatient populations with histories of severe mental illness which includes high-risk correctional populations referred for forensic evaluations.
  • Experience conducting forensic evaluations which includes fitness to proceed and criminal responsibility evaluations.
  • Familiarity with Oregon Revised Statutes, Oregon Administrative Rules and APA ethical standards and guidelines relevant to forensic psychology.
  • Experience collaborating with a team of psychologists.
  • Ability to participate in continuing education to maintain professional competencies.

Preference Statement:
Preference may be extended to candidates who possess experience conducting forensic evaluations.
