Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. This position will plan and coordinate education and care of patients with diabetes in collaboration with other disciplines, community agents, and Sentara subsidiaries. It will also serve as the resource person for the clinical staff serving the inpatient population.

• Bachelor’s degree – related field (Required)
• Bachelor’s degree – Dietetics (Preferred)

or

• If Bachelor’s Degree is in a major other than Dietetics, must complete an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics.

• Certified Diabetes and Education Care Specialist (CDCES) License (Preferred)
• If not currently certified, will be required to obtain CDCES license within 2.5 years of hire.
• Registered Dietitian candidates will also be considered.

• Working experience with diabetes population (Preferred)
• Patient education and care coordination experience (Preferred)
