The psychologist performs Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) for veterans filing disability claims regarding mental health conditions (e.g., PTSD, depression, anxiety) through the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) as part of the Compensation and Pension Program. The exams require a mental health assessment and the issuance of medical opinions, but no treatment will be provided.
Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive mental health examinations (MDE) including PTSD, depression, military sexual trauma (MST), anxiety, and eating disorders.
- Write medical opinions as the subject matter expert for mental health claims.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and VA rules and procedures.
- Conduct C&P mental health examinations as one-time, no-treatment evaluations.
- Full, current, and unrestricted license in Psychology in the U.S.
- License that allows for full independent practice and is unrestricted.
- Completion of an APA-approved doctoral program.
- Experience performing C&P exams is preferred, though not required; training and ongoing support will be provided.
Pay Rate: $55/hr
