Position: HEALTH CARE TECHNICIAN IV - Residential Coordinator - Pueblo Regional Center

This position is open to current Colorado residents only.

The Pueblo Regional Center (PRC) is one of three state-operated regional centers providing specialized services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses. PRC manages 11 group homes throughout the Pueblo West community, licensed to serve 88 individuals, and provides 24/7 care and treatment in home-like settings.

About the Position

This position ensures all residential programming is implemented in the home. The role involves supervising, modeling, and coaching direct support professionals while maintaining the home milieu. The supervisor works closely with the Program Services Coordinator to ensure services are delivered within correct guidelines.

Primary

Job Duties
  • Individual Care, Communication, Unit Maintenance and Safety
    :
    Understands and promotes the Home and Community Based Services Final Rule; counsels individuals on behavior and medical care; administers medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and state statutes; completes and submits incident, injury, debriefing, and progress reports; maintains strong communication with staff, management, individuals, and agencies; resolves complaints and grievances; follows hold policies and maintains the home for surveys.
  • Clinical Skill
    :
    Implements and trains in lifting and transport techniques; uses behavior techniques; documents outcomes; monitors progress; operates motor vehicles for transportation; assists with personal shopping and supplies; participates in interdisciplinary team reviews and maintains HIPAA confidentiality.
  • Supervision
    :
    Exercises supervision over approximately 12 direct care staff, covering hiring, performance planning, evaluation, and disciplinary actions; manages staffing patterns and regulatory compliance; monitors training and performance; maintains a supervision schedule and performance improvement plan.
  • Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI):
    Maintains documentation, participates in QAPI processes, and ensures accurate resident care records; documents changes in conditions and corrects errors; follows current forms and policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education / Licensure / Certification / Experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Three (3) years of experience in an occupational field related to the job duties.
Substitutions

Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Special Qualifications
  • Colorado LPT‑DD, LPT‑MI, LPN, or QMAP with a check off completed by the Designated Regional Center representative, or earn QMAP within 3 months of hiring.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
  • Experience working with individuals with a mental health diagnosis.
  • Experience providing person‑centered services.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Experience training, mentoring, and supervising healthcare staff.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 healthcare facility.
  • Excellent work performance and work history.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Team player and flexible to change.
  • Relevant years of state service experience.
Conditions of Employment
  • Full background checks for direct contact with vulnerable persons (CBI, ICON, Medicare fraud, reference checks, professional license verification, drug screening, etc.).
  • State of Colorado residency required at the time of application and throughout employment.
  • Must possess a valid, non‑restricted Colorado Driver’s License.
  • Shift work: 24/7 facility with availability for any shift, day, or area.
  • Travel required; use of a state vehicle if available, or personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.
  • Must be able to lift 100 lbs or more, bend, kneel, squat, and perform behavioral interventions proficiently.
