Position: Medical Scribe (Hybrid/remote AZ Residents Only)

Job Title:

Medical Scribe (Full‑time in Primary Care Setting)

Location:

10705 W Peoria Ave, Sun City, AZ 85351

Hybrid – Must live in AZ. After a 90‑day probation/training period, 2 days a week from home and 3 days onsite (days coordinated with management).

Base hourly wage: $18.88 (additional bonuses, overtime, etc. may apply).

Role Description

The Medical Scribe supports primary care providers with real‑time clinical documentation, allowing providers to focus on patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Document patient encounters (~80%) – joining providers in the exam room, recording structured notes (history, assessment, plan, exam), assigning CPT and ICD‑10 codes, preparing after‑visit summaries, and consulting for accurate documentation.
  • Clinical Documentation Improvement (~10%) – request and review records, use Oak Street population‑health tools, support daily huddles and documentation reviews, consult on improvement opportunities.
  • Administrative support (~10%) – place orders and referrals, address miscellaneous medical‑record tasks, assist the care team, and perform other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for Knowledge
  • Medical terminology, common medications, and related clinical knowledge from a pre‑medical degree or prior clinical experience.
  • Prior scribe or transcription experience.
Skills
  • Advanced listening and communication skills.
  • Strong computer literacy and the ability to learn new technical workflows.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by the communities served.
Abilities
  • Adapt quickly to new workflows.
  • Type 70+ words per minute.
  • Work independently and as a team member supporting patient care.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and work 40‑45 hours per week during clinic hours.
  • Commit to at least one year in the role (two years preferred).
  • Compliance with hospital and Oak Street Health policies, including HIPAA.
  • US work authorization.
