ABA Therapy / Behavioral Therapy
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct one-on-one behavioral intervention services to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental or behavioral needs. Under the close supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT implements individualized treatment plans, collects and records data, promotes skill acquisition, and helps reduce challenging behaviors while maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
- Provide direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to clients in clinic, home, school, or community settings.
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and skill acquisition programs developed by the supervising BCBA.
- Collect accurate and objective data during each therapy session.
- Assist clients in developing communication, social, adaptive living, play, self-help, and functional life skills.
- Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies such as:
- Discrete Trial Training (DTT)
- Natural Environment Teaching (NET)
- Task Analysis
- Prompting and Prompt Fading
- Manage challenging behaviors using positive behavior support strategies while maintaining client dignity and safety.
- Communicate client progress, concerns, and observations with the supervising BCBA.
- Participate in treatment team meetings, supervision sessions, and ongoing training.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and within company deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
- Build positive and professional relationships with clients, families, and coworkers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if providing community or home-based services).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the workday.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and move quickly when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Previous ABA therapy experience.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while following supervision and treatment protocols.
- Flexible schedule, including afternoon and evening availability.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to actively participate in therapy sessions involving movement and play.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor.
- Ability to safely implement crisis prevention procedures if trained.
- Ability to lift, carry, or assist children weighing up to 50 pounds when appropriate.

The work environment may include exposure to loud noises, active play, and occasional aggressive or self-injurious behaviors requiring implementation of approved behavior intervention procedures.
Supervision
The Registered Behavior Technician works under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and receives ongoing supervision in accordance with BACB requirements.
