Work ShiftFull Time (40 hrs/wk) – Rotating, 8‑hour shifts; 6am-11pm; weekends every other weekend; holiday rotation. Hours may vary to meet pharmacy staffing needs.
OverviewSentara is hiring a full‑time Inpatient Pharmacy Technician at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA. $5,000 sign‑on bonus for qualified candidates.
Job Responsibilities- Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner
- Ensures adequate supplies for continuous patient care
- Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
- Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
- Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
- Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
- In addition to the above responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
- CPhT License (preferred, eg, through NHA or PTCB)
- Previous Pharmacy Experience (preferred)
