What We Are Looking For In A Direct Support ProfessionalWe seek friendly, helpful, and compassionate individuals who prioritize others, possess integrity, and can work both independently and in a team. Education or experience is welcome; we are willing to train the right people.
- Provide consistent care and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their homes.
- Support personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and hygiene.
- Manage household duties: housekeeping, laundry, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Assist with daily living skills: banking, shopping, outings, and responsibilities.
- Ensure safety by following care plans, administering medication, and attending doctor visits.
- Maintain focused attention and safeguard individuals' welfare.
- Assist with program strategies and recreational activities.
- Handle crisis management and intervention for medical or behavioral needs.
- Plan and prepare meals following dietary guidelines.
- Manage money and purchasing for personal supplies.
- Provide safe transportation; training is provided.
- Read and understand English for care guidelines and documentation.
- Learn about the people served to better meet their needs.
- Complete required monthly/annual training and maintain competence.
- Participate in staff meetings and collaborate with the team.
- Use a computer to document care (training provided).
- Protect individuals' rights and privacy.
- Perform physical tasks, including lifting and transferring heavy weights.
- State Medication Administration Certification (Group Home Workers Only)
- First Aid for Accidents
- CPR – Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- PMT – Physical Management Techniques (Group Home Workers Only)
Part‑time positions available: 12–24 hours per week, weekdays, weekends, evenings. Overtime available.
Full‑time positions available: 34–36 hours per week, weekdays, weekends, evenings. Overtime available.
