*** Sentara is hiring a Full-time Pharmacy Technician I for our Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Norfolk General in Norfolk, VA.

** Full-time (40 hours per week) Mon-Fri

***** 8:15am-5:15pm or 10:45am-7:15pm***$5,000 Sign-On Bonus for Qualified Candidates!
* The Pharmacy Technician II performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
** Participates in the training of new employees
* Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
* Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
* Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
* Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to pharmacy operations
* Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
* Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
* In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
* A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
** Education
* ** Experience in a high-pace/high-volume store with data entry and handling insurance adjudications (Preferred)
* Familiar with managing inventory, cycle counts, and a good knowledge of handling the pharmacy queues to prioritize workflow (Preferred)
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
** Certification/Licensure
*** Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
* CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
** Experience
* ** 1 years of Pharmacy Technician experience (Required), #LI-SM1, insurance adjudications, inventory, cycle counts, prior authorization, medicare, medicaid.
