Abound Health is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support an individual who is preparing to transition into her own apartment in the Macungie area. This role is focused on building independence
, supporting daily routines, and helping her navigate adult life — not hands‑on caregiving. We are seeking 2–3 part‑time DSPs to share a 7‑day schedule and provide consistent, reliable support.

The ideal DSPs will have strong communication skills, speak English as their primary language, and enjoy teaching life skills, supporting community engagement, and empowering individuals to live independently.

As a DSP, you will provide hands‑on support that helps individuals build independence and confidence.

Responsibilities include:

• Build positive relationships and support individuals in achieving personal goals
• Assist with daily living routines, including meal preparation and household tasks
• Teach and model life skills such as cooking, cleaning, scheduling, and community navigation
• Support community participation, employment, and social activities
• Encourage independence and help individuals develop new skills
• Provide transportation as needed, including weekday pickups from Whitehall
• Monitor health and safety while maintaining a supportive environment
• Communicate with Abound team members, families, and external parties
• Complete documentation and maintain schedules
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development

This referral requires 4 hours of In‑Home & Community Support (IHCS) per day, 7 days a week
.

Anticipated

Schedule:

Monday–Wednesday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Transportation required from her workplace in Whitehall to her home.

Thursday–Sunday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

We are hiring 2–3 part‑time DSPs to split the schedule and ensure consistent coverage. There is flexibility to begin with one DSP and build the team as needed.

Driving is required for this service, and DSPs will receive the higher end of the IHCS pay range to compensate for transportation.

• Must be 18 years or older
• Valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass criminal record, driving record, and healthcare registry checks
• Willingness to assist with personal care as needed
• Ability to lift or use adaptive equipment depending on client needs

Experience working with individuals with disabilities is not required — we provide paid training and support.

Starting Pay: $19.50–$25.00 per hour
