Overview
This position provides routine physical therapy treatment as assigned and planned by a licensed Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapy Assistant delivers direct patient care after the patient has been evaluated by a licensed Physical Therapist, documents progress, and communicates changes to the supervising therapist.
Responsibilities- Perform physical therapy treatments as prescribed by the physician under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.
- Communicate and document changes in patient status and inform the therapist of reassessments.
- Maintain patient records according to documentation standards, policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff and committee projects.
- Achieve established productivity levels set by administration.
- Educate and train others within the discipline.
- Adapt communication and behavior to meet the needs of the patient population, respecting privacy and consent.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Associate’s degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant program.
- Current license as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- No required work experience.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to various levels of individuals.
- Strong organizational skills and good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities.

Physical demands include the occasional lifting of more than 100 pounds (heavy work) and frequent lifting over 50 pounds. The position requires walking, standing, pushing, and pulling at a production‑rate pace. The job exposes the incumbent to blood, body fluids, tissues, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste. The incumbent works in clinical settings that require compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and safeguards patient privacy and safety.
