PET​/Nuclear Medicine Technologist

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team. The role involves operating PET/CT scanners to generate diagnostic images while providing a patient‑centered experience.

This is a part‑time position working approximately 35 hours per week; shifts are 7:00 am – 5:00 pm.

• Screens patients before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to confirm identity and procedure.
• Explains and prepares patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately.
• Performs routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures with minimal supervision, providing support throughout the process.
• Adjusts scan parameters correctly, using dose‑reduction techniques when appropriate.
• Makes a positive contribution to teamwork with radiologists, referring clinicians, and peers.
• Follows physicians’ orders precisely while complying with safety regulations.
• Accurately maintains patient records in the Radiology Information System (RIS).
• Maintains an orderly, clean work area, promoting safety habits.
• Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
• Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects after each use.
• Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
• Assesses, prepares, records, and administers radiopharmaceuticals per Nuclear Regulatory Commission and/or state regulations.
• Administers 6‑fluoro‑deoxy‑glucose (FDG) via intravenous methods to patients.
• Demonstrates safe work behaviors to maintain a safe environment.
• Reports contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.

• Assists with updating the imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
• Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
• Assists with training of new associates, providing resources and technical expertise.
• Performs and records daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
• Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and state regulations.

Part‑time (30–39)

• NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing.
• Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography.
• Licensed radiological technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform PET/CT procedures independently.
• Certification in an imaging specialty.

• ARRT certification in CT.
• NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
