Job SummaryAs the Outpatient Coder I, you will translate health care services and procedures into standardized codes on outpatient accounts. You will work with Epic work quests to maintain timeliness of coding, billing, and accounts receivable.
You will communicate with providers, coders and clinical documentation specialists as needed for comprehensive patient record documentation.
You will formulate, monitor and respond to all compliant documentation clarification requests to query the provider for resolution of incomplete documentation.

Requirements- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in HIT/HIM OR High school diploma AND Certificate of Completion of AHIMA Coding Basics Program and Coding Assessment and Training Solutions Program
- Must be able to pass internal coding test
- Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- 1 year of outpatient coding
- RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CCS-P certification or must obtain within 90 days of hire
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
- Knowledge and experience with Epic, 3M 360 and other HIM coding applications
- Knowledge of entire hospital billing revenue cycle process
- 2 years of outpatient coding experience
Salary Range - $41,200 - $61,360
