Job Title
Registered Nurse - Telehealth
Location & CompensationCary, NC – $40 per hour
Work ScheduleMonday – Friday 9:00am – 6:00pm with occasional 11:00am – 8:00pm shifts.
Responsibilities- Counsel and educate new and existing patients on specialty drug therapies, including REMS FDA‑mandated medications. For some medications, read a list of statements to the patient verbatim.
- Ensure patients and caregivers understand their current therapy, aid medication adherence, schedule medication refill deliveries, and collect copays when applicable.
- Maintain adherence to contracted and accrediting regulations as indicated by drug specifications.
- Complete thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Discuss potential or current side effects with patients, provide education about treatment alternatives, and facilitate ongoing therapy adherence.
- Identify and report adverse events and product complaints to the manufacturer, FDA, and other governing authorities.
- Verify and educate on specialty drugs, acting as a conduit between provider and patient to support therapeutic longevity.
- Adhere to patient management programs through call cadence schedules, medication management programming, drug counseling, and provider collaboration.
- Maintain patient demographic records, medical history, and records in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Support teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of specialty drugs.
- Registered Nurse with current unrestricted compact state license or primary NC or TX licensure.
- Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or higher degree in Nursing, or accredited nursing diploma.
- 5+ years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of acute, inpatient, or outpatient care preferred.
- Ability to obtain licensure in all states and U.S. territories serviced within 3 months of employment through biologics‑supported programming.
- Computer skills, including e‑mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and web‑based programs.
- Effective oral and written communication skills; experience with motivational interviewing preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret practice standards, professional journals, technical procedures, and government standards and regulations.
- Hybrid work option (local onsite and work from home) if metrics are met.
- Must pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Must have at least 2–3 years of direct patient care experience and enjoy spending approximately 8 hours a day on the phone. Must pay attention to detail and enjoy repetition. Must be in good standing with the board of nursing and reside within a commutable distance of Cary, NC.
