We started out as a small operation in California. In May 1969, we acquired four hospitals, some additional care facilities and real estate for the future development of hospitals. The USPI Compliance Officer is responsible for managing the implementation of Tenet's Ethics and Compliance program in his or her assigned region.

The USPI Compliance Officer's general duties and responsibilities encompass implementing Tenet's Quality, Compliance and Ethics Charter, systems, processes and policies designed to ensure compliance with Federal healthcare program requirements. Among the specific responsibilities and activities of the USPI Compliance Officer are the following:
