Overview Role Description
The Private Practice Therapist will provide individual therapy services, conduct intake assessments, develop treatment plans, and maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include facilitating trauma-informed and mindfulness-based sessions, collaborating on care plans, and engaging in case consultation and supervision as appropriate. The therapist will participate in practice meetings, contribute to workshops or community programs as needed, and uphold ethical and legal standards of clinical practice.
This is a part-time, hybrid role based in West Hartford, CT, with a combination of in-office sessions and some work-from-home flexibility.
- Current or eligible Connecticut licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychologist) or pre-licensed status working toward independent licensure.
- Strong clinical skills in individual psychotherapy, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and use of evidence-based interventions.
- Experience or interest in trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based approaches, and integrative or holistic modalities.
- Commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive, and affirming care for clients of diverse identities and backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain clear, organized clinical documentation and manage a part-time caseload responsibly.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills, with the ability to build therapeutic rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, including in-person sessions in West Hartford, CT and secure telehealth sessions from home.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing supervision, continuing education, and professional development.
- Master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a closely related mental health field.
