Job Information  Exemption Status:
Non-Exempt    A Brief Overview  Applies specialized radiologic knowledge and technical skills while performing image-guided interventional radiology procedures. Provides imaging and scrubbing support, monitors patient clinical status, and communicates changes to the Interventional Radiology care team. Performs duties during regular work hours and participates in on-call coverage for emergent procedures    Education Qualifications
* High School Diploma / GED Required Experience Qualifications
* 1 year Diagnostic radiology experience desired and demonstrated acceptable knowledge level of all diagnostic radiology procedures. Preferred
* Previous invasive procedure experience (ie Cath Lab, IR, EP Lab) desired. Preferred Preferred

Licenses and Certifications
* Registered Technologist - ARRT Passage of ARRT(R) is required within 12 months of employment to maintain position. Required
* Licensed Radiology Technologist (LRT) - KSBHA Must have current Kansas license within 60 days of hire, or within 60 days of obtaining ARRT registry.
* Basic Life Support BLS required within 90 days of hire date.
* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS within 90 days of hire date.

What you will do
* Performs imaging and scrubbing duties for interventional radiology procedures, including vascular access, biopsies, drain placements, embolization procedures, venous interventions, and diagnostic angiography as applicable to IR.
* Operates fluoroscopy and imaging equipment specific to IR procedural suites.
* Prepares procedure rooms, procedural trays, equipment, and supplies specific to IR workflows.
* Maintains sterile technique, including patient prepping and draping.
* Monitors patient clinical status during procedures and communicates changes to the IR team.
* Applies appropriate imaging techniques tailored to patient anatomy and procedural requirements, optimizing image quality while minimizing radiation exposure.
* Accurately documents procedural imaging and technologist responsibilities in the medical record.
* Participates in IR on-call rotation for emergent and time-sensitive procedures.
* Provides age-appropriate care to school-aged through gerontological patients.
* Participates in departmental data collection, quality improvement, and performance improvement initiatives.
* Adheres to all departmental and organizational policies, including radiation safety and infection control standards.
* Maintains clean and orderly procedure rooms and work areas.
* Documents patient or device-related complications according to policy.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
