Job Summary
Remote Medical Coder responsible for assigning ICD‑10 codes to all patient types, abstracting critical information, and ensuring coding accuracy meets daily DNFB standards.
Responsibilities- Assign appropriate codes to all patient types.
- Abstract critical information and enter data into the hospital information system.
- Monitor accounts "in process" for diagnosis to assure daily DNFB standard is met.
- Maintain a high level of coding expertise.
- Meet expectations for Remote Coding Placement outlined in the NRHS Remote Coder Agreements.
- Bachelor's of Science or Associate's in Applied Arts/Science or equivalent experience.
- Certification with AHIMA as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS, or with AAPC as CPC, COC, CIC, or equivalent coding certification preferred.
- Minimum two years of professional coding experience.
