Pharmacy Care Technician - Work From Home; Mount Prospect, IL

Position Summary

CVS Health/Specialty offers a work-from-home Pharmacy Care Technician position in Illinois. In order to qualify, you must live within 75 miles of the CVS Specialty site at 800 Biermann Ct Ste B Mt Prospect, IL 60056, and be able to travel on short notice for equipment or performance reviews if needed.

• Accurately read, interpret, and enter prescriptions into the computer system, including dose calculations and assignment of directions.
• Accept insurance payment promptly and route incomplete or unclear prescriptions to prescribers for clarification.
• Enter prescription information once clarification is received.
• Handle inbound phone calls; interact with customers and cross‑functional teams to answer questions, solve problems, and provide education.
• Perform new patient enrollment, verify insurance coverage, and investigate and process medication orders for both new and existing patients.
• Maintain routine assessment and problem identification with timely escalation to a pharmacist.

• Live within 75 miles of Mount Prospect, Illinois.
• At least 6 months of experience in a pharmacy technician role.
• At least 6 months of experience using Windows‑based applications, Windows, Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email.
• At least 6 months of computer keyboarding skills and aptitude.
• Active valid Pharmacy Technician License and/or Certification required by the State of IL.
• Direct, hardwired internet connection to a modem/router within 7 feet of your computer, minimum download speed of 100

  Mbps. Wi‑Fi and satellite are not permitted.
• Secure and private home workspace free from distractions.

• Preferable experience with customer needs handling over the phone (at least 3 months).
• Preferable healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, and prescriptions.
• Preferable experience in medical billing, coding, and other medical assisting roles.
• Preferable customer service experience in an office environment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.

Starting pay is $22.00/hr the typical pay range for this role is $17.00–$31.30/hr this full‑time position requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 11:00am–7:30pm local time. Overtime is available during business peaks.
