Make an Impact Beyond Coding!... Are you an experienced inpatient hospital coder looking to expand your role in Clinical Documentation Improvement? A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to combine coding expertise with meaningful CDI initiatives that enhance documentation quality, compliance, and patient care.

This fully remote opportunity offers the chance to split your time between inpatient production coding and CDI projects, making it an ideal fit for professionals who enjoy variety and want to broaden their impact while working with an organization committed to excellence in healthcare.

What You'll Do
  • Perform inpatient production coding with a focus on accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Partner with physicians and clinical staff to improve the quality and completeness of medical documentation.
  • Participate in Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) initiatives that support accurate coding, reimbursement, and quality outcomes.
  • Balance approximately 50% production coding and 50% CDI project work.
  • Work independently while managing priorities in a fully remote environment.
What You'll Bring
  • At least four years of inpatient coding experience in a PPS (Prospective Payment System) acute care hospital setting.
  • CDI certification is preferred; candidates with at least two years of successful CDI experience will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of hospital coding guidelines and documentation standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
