Role Description The Mental Health Coach will provide one-on-one and coaching sessions that integrate yoga-informed practices, mindfulness, and practical tools for emotional wellness. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing client’s wellness, needs, setting collaborative wellness goals, attending client appointments, developing session plans, and documenting progress in a clear, professional manner. The coach will guide clients through grounding techniques, breathwork, and simple movement practices appropriate to their abilities, while offering psychoeducation on stress, anxiety, and emotional well-being.

Additional tasks include coordinating schedules, maintaining confidential client records, and participating in periodic team meetings or trainings. This is a part-time, hybrid role based in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area, with a mix of in-person sessions at designated locations and some work-from-home for virtual coaching and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in mental health or wellness coaching, counseling, or related support roles, with a client-centered and trauma-informed approach.
  • Background in yoga, mindfulness, or somatic practices (e.g., yoga teacher training, meditation facilitation, or similar relevant experience).
  • Strong communication and active listening skills, including the ability to hold space, ask thoughtful questions, and provide clear, compassionate guidance.
  • Solid organizational and time-management abilities, including scheduling, documentation, and follow-up with clients in a timely manner.
  • Comfort with technology for virtual coaching (video platforms, electronic notes, secure communication tools) and basic office software.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and cultural humility when working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Relevant education or training in psychology, social work, coaching, or health sciences is beneficial; certification in coaching or yoga is a plus.
  • Ability to work part time in a hybrid format in the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area, including some evenings or weekends based on client needs.
