DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the Statement of Claim (SOC) Creation Unit by reviewing, analyzing, and computing claims connected to medical assistance and related programs. It ensures accurate and complete information that supports claim recovery for the Department of Human Services. As a Medical Assistance Program Technician, you will perform the following duties:
* Claim Review:
Analyze medical, cash, and estate claims using procedures and regulations to determine proper recovery amounts
* Data Verification:
Examine history and eligibility records in the Client Information System (CIS) and the Provider Reimbursement and Operations Management Information System (PROMISe) systems to confirm accurate claim ranges
* Regulation Application:
Apply federal and state rules to calculate credits, debits, and liability standards for complex cases
* Information Gathering:
Contact facilities and offices to obtain essential long-term care and estate documentation
* Case Analysis:
Interpret medical forms, attorney letters, and client encounter data to identify injuries and fiscal details
* Record Reporting:
Provide claim statistics to supervisors for case tracking and management reports

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
* Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
* Free parking is included with this position.
* Telework:
You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* Three years of para-technical experience which involved reviewing and responding to inquiries relating to applicable services or benefits in health care insurance programs, health care services, or medical assistance program services; or
* Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
