Job Summary And QualificationsThe ER Point of Care Scheduling (PoCS) Manager is responsible for managing all activities related to day-to-day operations and performance of ER discharge coordinators. Performs associated processes when necessary to ensure targets and goals are met to ensure timely scheduling of ER provider referrals. Establish and monitor QA audits, tracks, and trends performance and productivity by employee. Provides ongoing training and education.
Assumes responsibility for staffing, problem solving, and leading by example. The truest intent of the ER PoCS program is an ER bedside initiated patient experience, with the objectives of increased contact rate, scheduling immediacy, and improved overall patient experience. The manager will create and maintain a positive customer experience in a patient centered, quality driven environment.
This role is a hybrid position with some work from home as well as facility based (Houston / Gulf Coast Area) work.
In this role, you will:
- Assist AVP of PoC Scheduling in the oversight of the ER program.
- Effectively manage on-site staff in partnership with ER leadership while working remotely.
- Build and maintain relationships with the various stakeholders involved in the program.
- Perform site visits on a regular cadence and maximize time while on-site.
- Assist with development/creation/maintenance of education materials.
- Provide continuous training for and communicate changes to existing employees.
- Prepare payroll and completes work schedules as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Follow-up on patients, physicians, and facility complaints with urgency and professionalism.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Equivalent work experience may substitute education requirements.
- Hospital Experience preferred
- Management experience of > 3 years preferred
- Some travel will be required
