PURPOSEThe Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist – Bilingual provides evidence-based, home-based family therapy services utilizing the Functional Family Therapy (FFT) model. This position serves youth ages 10–18 and their families and requires the ability to provide clinical services in both English and Spanish to ensure equitable access to care for families with limited English proficiency.
The therapist will provide, at a minimum, weekly one-hour home-based family therapy sessions and maintain a caseload of approximately 10–15 families receiving services over an eight- to twenty-six-week period. This position requires flexibility to meet families during evenings and other times that accommodate their schedules.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Deliver evidence-based Functional Family Therapy (FFT) services in accordance with model fidelity.
- Provide individual, family, and caregiver interventions in both English and Spanish, as appropriate to meet the linguistic needs of the family.
- Conduct home, community, and occasional office-based visits.
- Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, evaluate family dynamics, assess safety and risk, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide crisis intervention and develop safety and coping plans with families.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic health record and required reporting systems.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners including schools, DCF, juvenile justice agencies, medical providers, and other community organizations.
- Participate in FFT consultation, supervision, and ongoing fidelity monitoring.
- Translate clinical concepts and psychoeducation in a culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate manner while maintaining therapeutic integrity.
- Promote family engagement using a strengths-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach.
- Respond positively and respectfully to diversity among clients, families, community partners, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by agency leadership.
This role may require travel throughout the Greater New Haven area each day.
