This placement process is designed for new-graduate Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists. We offer new graduate therapists the opportunity to step into impactful, patient-centered roles across Virginia and North Carolina. Whether you're drawn to the energy of acute care, the continuity of outpatient therapy, or the independence of home health, you'll gain real hands-on experience while building confidence in your clinical skills.

We also welcome new graduate Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). At Sentara, you'll work alongside experienced clinicians in a collaborative, patient-centered environment that supports learning, innovation, and professional growth.

This is a centralized application process — apply just once and be considered by any Sentara location across Virginia and North Carolina. Job overview

Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve functional mobility, relieve pain, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Provides age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers. Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Master's or Doctorate Level Degree
• Associate degree in PTA/OTA required for assistant roles

Certification/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• American Heart Association (AHA)
• RQI American Heart Association (AHA)
• Active or eligible state licensure in the applicable rehabilitation discipline

Experience

• 0 – 1 years of practice (new graduate experience)
