About the Role
We're hiring a Certified Radiologic Technologist to provide onsite diagnostic radiologic services in the Health Services Department at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Leavenworth. This is a steady, part-time schedule — a great fit as supplemental income alongside an existing hospital or clinic role, with no travel or relocation required.
Schedule
- 3 days per week, generally between 0730–1400, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Excludes Federal holidays
- Local candidates only — this is an onsite, non-remote position
What You'll Do
- Perform routine diagnostic radiologic examinations as ordered by authorized medical personnel
- Properly identify and position patients for exams
- Operate Government-furnished radiographic equipment per manufacturer instructions and professional standards
- Produce diagnostic-quality images and review for positioning, exposure, and image quality
- Maintain accurate patient, examination, and workload documentation
- Follow radiation-safety, infection-control, privacy, and institutional-security requirements
- Coordinate performance with Health Services staff
Qualifications
- Current certification to perform radiological imaging in the State of Kansas (ARRT or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Proof of malpractice insurance
- Verification of credentials, licensure status, and continuing education
- Ability to pass a drug screening and a federal law enforcement background investigation
- Ability to provide evidence of required health screenings (e.g., TB testing) as requested
Pay & Compensation
- $40/hour, flat rate
- Paid for sessions actually performed; if a scheduled session is delayed due to facility conditions, minimum one session is paid per institution policy
