Director of RCM
** About Code Max Medical Billing
** Code Max Medical Billing is a specialized revenue cycle management firm serving substance abuse and behavioral health providers across the country. Our team is dedicated to maximizing reimbursement for our clients while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and accuracy. We are a growing organization that invests in our people and values expertise, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
** About the Role
** We are looking for an experienced Billing Supervisor to lead our RCM billing team. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will own the accuracy and performance of our billing operations — from submission through reimbursement — for a portfolio of behavioral health and substance abuse clients.

You will oversee a blended team of onshore and offshore billing and coding specialists, drive KPI performance, and serve as a key point of contact for providers and payers alike. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing distributed teams, and bring deep knowledge of substance abuse billing, we want to hear from you.
** What You'll Do
*** Supervise and mentor a blended team of onshore and offshore billing and coding specialists, providing day-to-day guidance, training, and performance feedback.
* Oversee preparation and submission of insurance claims, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Manage follow-up on unpaid and denied claims; identify trends and implement corrective action to optimize reimbursement.
* Translate clinical services, and diagnoses into ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes and ensure team members do the same accurately.
* Establish and monitor KPIs and quality assurance processes to maintain coding accuracy and team productivity.
* Facilitate clear communication among providers, patients, and payers to resolve billing and coding issues promptly.
* Keep the team current on changes to medical billing regulations, payer policies, and substance abuse billing requirements.
* Develop and execute strategies to improve efficiency and effectiveness across billing operations.
* Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and company confidentiality policies at all times.
** What We're Looking For
***
* Required:

*** Hands-on experience in substance abuse, behavioral health, or mental health RCM billing — this is a specialized environment and prior exposure matters.
* Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding as applied to substance use disorder treatment.
* Familiarity with commercial, in-network, out-of-network, and government payer claim requirements and the full claims lifecycle.
* Minimum 3–5 years of employee management or leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable both onshore and offshore team members.
* Proficiency with healthcare billing software and EHR systems; experience with KIPU and Collaborate MD is a must.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Must be able to work onsite at our Fort Lauderdale, FL office. Remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates outside the local area.
** Preferred:
*** AAPC certification (CPC, CPB, or similar) strongly preferred.
* Experience with MAT (medication-assisted treatment) billing, including methadone and buprenorphine programs.
* Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare and other managed care plans for behavioral health across multiple states other.
* Experience working with substance abuse treatment centers, detox facilities, or outpatient programs.
*
* Education:

*** High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
* AAPC or AHIMA certification preferred (CPC, CPB, CPMA, CCS, or equivalent).
** Compensation & Benefits
**** Salary Range:** $65,000 – $85,000 depending on experience

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including:
* Medical, dental, and vision insurance
* PTO and paid holidays
* 401(k) with company match
* Support for continuing education and professional certifications
