Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technologist

What you will do:

• Accurately and efficiently performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post analytical processes for laboratory testing
• Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment according to manufacturer's instructions
• Performs and evaluates all required quality control assessments as described in departmental policies and procedures prior to reporting patient results
• Evaluates results of laboratory tests according to laboratory protocols to ensure quality patient care
• Documents all laboratory activities according to policies and procedures
• Maintains and demonstrates competency assessment in assigned area
• Takes responsibility for self-development
• Completes all assigned mandatory assignments within allowed timelines

Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and safely and securely maintaining Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or Bachelor's Degree in other field and Associate's Degree in clinical laboratory science and certification by ASCP or equivalent are also acceptable
• Less than 1 year entry level experience required
• Ability to keep organized
• Displays initiative to perform job duties
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to multi-task
• Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members
• Knowledge of standard laboratory policies and procedures, safety practices, and laboratory equipment and instrumentation
