Job Summary:
General receptionist/clerical duties including but not limited to:
- Telephone-direct calls and taking messages
- Information resources and referral for staff, students and community members.
- Some computer word processing, typing and filing.
- May be asked to work remotely if college is limiting person contact.
- In those situations would be doing student outreach, assisting with social media and data entry.
- Tools of the job may include Multi-line phone, computer, copy machine, poster maker.
- Must be able to operate a computer and/or other office equipment.
- May occasional lift light to medium weight items, with or without assistance.
- Work is performed indoors with no exposure to safety and health hazards.
- Considerable time may be spent working at a computer.
- Environment may be loud and hectic at times.
- Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC , maintain satisfactory academic progress throughout each term, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better, and have financial aid in place to be eligible to work in a Work Study student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.
- Must be people oriented, quick learner and detail oriented.
- Should be able to carry out written/verbal instructions, multi-task effectively, communicate well and focus among distractions.
- Willing to learn new things and comfortable communicating with students.
- Must be able to communicate with faculty, staff and students, work well independently and with others.
- Ability to interact sensitively and effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
