Staff Occupational Therapist

Functions as a Staff OT within the HBPC section, applying evidence-based OT practices including activity analysis, therapeutic procedures, frames of reference, and behavioral interventions.

Plans, administers, and manages in-home rehabilitation services for Veterans enrolled in the Battle Creek VAMC and associated CBOCs under the Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) Program.

Provides comprehensive in-home occupational therapy evaluation and treatment for Veterans with multiple, complex chronic illnesses and disabilities across all age groups.

Independently conducts patient assessments, develops treatment plans, and delivers interventions utilizing occupational, physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and behavioral therapy principles.

Exercises high professional autonomy and clinical judgment while working in community settings without on-site supervision.

Coordinates with interdisciplinary HBPC team members to ensure cohesive, longitudinal care for Veterans with chronic and often debilitating health conditions.

Ensures appropriate rehabilitative referrals by applying working knowledge of occupational therapy, physical therapy, kinesiotherapy, and recreational therapy.

Travels independently to Veteran homes within service area.

Maintains required credentials, including unrestricted state licensure and current NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist.

Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00pm
