The system delivers a full continuum of care through 24 affiliate hospitals across West Tennessee, Mississippi, and East Arkansas, along with extensive home, hospice, psychiatric, and outpatient services. With more than 5,400 affiliated physicians and Baptist Medical Group's 900+ providers, Baptist offers integrated, team-based care across multiple specialties.

The organization employs over 21,000 team members and invests heavily in community benefit and uncompensated care, contributing more than $455 million in fiscal year 2022. Baptist also supports professional growth through its education system, including Baptist Health Sciences University.

Role Description

The Registered Dietitian is a full-time, hybrid role based in Memphis, TN, with a combination of on-site clinical work and some work-from-home flexibility. This role provides evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, including nutrition assessments, care planning, and follow-up. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting nutritional counseling sessions, developing individualized meal plans, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to support patient outcomes.

The Registered Dietitian will monitor patient progress, document care in the electronic health record, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives. Additional duties may include providing nutrition education to groups, supporting community health programs, and staying current with regulatory and professional practice standards.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in nutritional counseling and weight management, including individualized education and behavior-change strategies.
  • Experience providing medical nutrition therapy for a variety of conditions and populations in acute and/or ambulatory care settings.
  • Active Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential and state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in Tennessee.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field; completion of an accredited dietetic internship or supervised practice program.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and engage diverse patient populations.
  • Strong documentation, organizational, and time management skills, including comfort with electronic health records and basic office software.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care, cultural humility, professional ethics, and ongoing professional development.
