Job Description & How to Apply Below

Students with fine-motor, sensory-processing, and functional-skill challenges need occupational therapy to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. But qualified school-based OTs are increasingly difficult for districts to find, especially in communities with limited local pipelines.

For over 15 years, eLuma has been connecting credentialed occupational therapists with more than 500 school districts nationwide. We match your availability and expertise to students who need you most, so you can deliver meaningful therapy without sacrificing the flexibility you have earned.

If you are ready to make a real impact on your own terms, we want to hear from you.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We are actively placing OTs for the  school year in NM. You work remotely from your own space, on a schedule built around your life, backed by strong clinical support and a team that has been placing school-based therapists for over a decade.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Deliver virtual occupational therapy services to K-12 students under established IEPs
  • Conduct OT evaluations assessing fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, and functional skill development
  • Develop and monitor IEP goals aligned to student’s functional performance and classroom participation
  • Recommend and support environmental modifications and assistive technology to improve student access
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families on carryover strategies
  • Complete required documentation and progress notes within district-set timelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings as needed, virtually
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active NBCOT certification (OTR)
  • Active state licensure in NM
  • NMPED Certification
  • Minimum one year of school-based OT experience
  • Reliable computer with webcam and stable high-speed internet connection
  • Availability Monday through Friday during standard school hours (minimum 15 hours per week preferred)
Preferred, or a Plus:
  • Prior telehealth or virtual service delivery experience
  • Experience with sensory integration, assistive technology, or handwriting programs (e.g., Handwriting Without Tears)
  • Experience across multiple grade levels or disability categories
WHY ELUMA?
  • Cross-licensing support: eLuma covers cross-licensing fees so you can serve students in additional states at no cost to you. Expand your reach without the paperwork burden.
  • Competitive hourly rate: Discussed during your intake call based on experience, availability, and placement type.
  • Schedule matching: We match your availability to the right district opportunity.
  • Clinical community and help desk: Access a community of specialists across the eLuma network, plus a dedicated help desk when technical issues arise.
  • eLuma’s proprietary platform: Purpose-built for school-based virtual services, with clinical tools and session resources designed around the IEP workflow.
  • 15+ years placing providers: eLuma has been connecting credentialed providers with school districts since 2010. We know how schools work and how to set you up for success.
  • 500+ district partners: Our placement volume means consistent opportunity across 50 states, including districts that need long-term providers.
