Position Summary:The Senior Specialist of Regulatory & Scientific Affairs (RSA) is responsible for regulatory compliance activities and systems and process support for the Nestlé Health Science (NHSc) business in the US. This position is expected to have a solid understanding of the regulatory environment for the products commercialized by NHSc in the US and the internal systems and processes used to drive regulatory compliance activities for the US business.
This position also provides guidance to cross-functional teams in areas like recipe compliance, labeling, claims substantiation, ingredient qualification, procurement, and internal auditing.
- Act as a key business partner and problem solver to provide RSA guidance in support and training of our systems, processes, internal auditing, and above-brand regulatory compliance activities.
- Assure compliance with applicable US regulations, third-party requirements, and internal Nestlé policies through mastery of the systems and processes used by cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Quality, Procurement, and Recipe Management, to support the regulatory compliance of raw materials and ingredients, formulas, and finished products.
- Review and approve advertising content by interpreting and applying appropriate regulations and guidance and working with Legal and Medical Affairs partners.
- Clearly communicate and elevate to the business any areas of concern related to product, systems, or process compliance, and work toward solutions and continuous improvement.
- Manage and maintain relevant databases (Supplement OWL), tools, and documents used by the team and organization.
- Serve as the RSA representative for select NHSc brands by attending project meetings, working with innovation partners on brand innovation and renovation initiatives, and providing overall regulatory guidance for brand activities.
- Stay abreast of the US regulatory environment, help translate potential impacts to the business, and proactively identify areas where further compliance may be necessary or policies or materials may need to be updated.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Regulatory Affairs, Public Health, Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, or a related scientific or technical discipline.
- MBA, Registered Dietitian, MSc, or other advanced degrees are a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in the food or supplement regulatory environment.
- Experience with SAP, Content Hub, and Veeva is a plus.
- Strong ability to manage projects of moderate to high complexity and prioritize actions.
- Some availability for national travel and in-person team meetings.
- Experience with project planning, project management, and problem-solving. #LI-SF1
