Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Medical Coder - Claims for a full-time, 100% remote contract opportunity supporting claims data quality within the insurance industry. This role focuses on reviewing historical medical professional liability claim files and standardizing claim severity coding for the podiatry segment. This is a strong opportunity for a certified medical coder who enjoys detailed review work, data consistency, medical terminology, and claims-related documentation.
The role supports a collaborative claims environment where accurate coding helps teams evaluate trends, understand changes over time, and improve future claim outcome predictions. Candidates can expect a professional, supportive setting with clear expectations, meaningful project work, and the opportunity to contribute to process consistency across long-term claims data.
- Review historical claim files from the past 5 to 10 years for accuracy and consistency.
- Validate, standardize, and update claim severity classifications across case files.
- Recode claims cases to support consistent data analysis and reporting.
- Help claims teams identify trends and changes in claim severity over time.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with internal coding practices.
- May be cross trained to support data bank and regulatory reporting activities.
- Pay: $20 to $22 per hour.
- Schedule:
Full-time. - Work arrangement: 100% remote.
- Employment type:
Contract/temporary. - Contract duration: 3 months to 1 year.
